Install using center punch clamp (tool required), or double bolt clamp.  Using a worm drive (screw) clamp will decrease the pressure rating and the shank retention under stress.

Never use Chicago type universal couplings for steam service

Meets specification A-A-59553 supercedes Mil Spec WWC-633D

Brass couplings are not lead-free (not for drinking water)

Safety Locking Chicago Couplings have a retractable sleeve that prevents the coupling from being disconnected during use. The sleeve must be retracted before the quarter-turn can be made to connect or disconnect the connection. Safety locking couplings can mate to standard Chicago type couplings or to another safety lock coupling.

Note - a special gasket is used in this coupling, do not attempt to use standard Chicago type gaskets, contact us for replacements.

Hose barb type and 1 inch size are available by special order.

Center Punch Clamp Tool
Center Punch Clamp Tool

The center punch hose clamp tool is used to apply preformed center punch style hose clamps. First insert the tail of the preformed hose clamp into the tool, then crank the tool to cinch the clamp down tight against the hose. The punch clamp is designed to permanently seal when the punch on the tool is hit against the hose clamp's buckle. Then roll the clamp tool upward to break free from the hose clamp.  The tail end of the hose clamp can then be removed from the tool and recycled.

Clamp pressure is not measured in this system. Test the hose and monitor during use to ensure proper tension.

Center Punch Hose clamps allow for a professional, repeatable assembly and on-site hose repair. Available in galvanized steel or 300 stainless steel. Size shown is the actual clamp diameter. Order so the clamp can fit over the outside diameter of the hose. (Typically 1/2 to 1 inch larger than inside diameter, but may vary by hose style).

  • Installation tool is required
