Ground Joint Hose Coupling Set Includes:

• Hose Shank (stem)

• Female Hammer Swivel

• Female NPT Spud Adapter

Use with interlocking bolted hose clamps 

Do not use washer seal style components with these sets

Size is the hose diameter and the NPT spud size

1" and smaller sizes have plated steel hose shank and spud adapter, wing nut is plated iron. 1-1/4" to 4" have plated iron stem, spud, and wing nut

Ground joint female swivel is a special thread, spud adapter converts to NPT (male NPT spud or double spud is also available). Only connect the special threaded wing nut to approved spud connectors.

The male NPT Boss hose stem features an interlocking lip for increased shank retention when used with an appropriately matched bolted clamp. This coupling can be joined to a female ground joint set when the female NPT spud adapter (included with the female coupling set) is installed.

1-1/4" sizes and larger are plated iron. Smaller sizes are plated steel.

Shank design shown is plated iron, steel couplings have a different shank pattern.

Ground Joint Double Spuds are used to connect hoses with female ground joint couplings together. Each side has the ground joint wing-nut thread and special polymer seal. 

Streamline multiple length bull hose setups: Install female ground joint couplings on each hose end and use double spuds to connect. 

• Double spuds will not connect to NPT couplings
• only use with ground joint female couplings (do not use if female swivel requires an external gasket)

Ground Joint Male Spuds can be used to connect female ground joint hose couplings to threaded manifolds, valves, and equipment. Thread the NPT side to any pipe threaded connection and then swivel a female ground joint wing nut onto the other end.

• One side is NPT male and other side mates with special ground joint wing nut thread.
• only use with ground joint female couplings (do not use if female swivel requires an external gasket)

Ground Joint female spud is included in the female hose coupling set. Purchase additional female spuds to convert additional equipment, pipe, and manifolds to ground joint wing nut thread. 

• Male wing nut thread to F NPT
• only use with ground joint female couplings (do not use if female swivel requires an external gasket)
• NPT size matches wing nut size (no jump sizes)

A bolted interlocking hose clamp is the most secure way to install interlocking ground joint type hose couplings. The top of the clamp has fingers that interlock with a ring on the hose couplings. The clamp features 2, 4, or 6 bolts depending on hose diameter. The inside of the clamp shells have serrations that press into the cover of the hose for increased grip. Hose can change in diameters over long term pressurization. The bolted clamp allows for adjustment. Torque should be checked on these clamps to ensure that the coupling stays tight.  

• The inside diameter listed must match the hose size, and the hose outside diameter must fall into the range listed. Do not select a clamp that does not match inside diameter of the hose in order to have it fall in the OD range or vice versa.

The Ground Joint female swivel adapter can be used to adapt equipment to a male spud or hose with male ground joint thread. Also use with a pipe tee to branch one hose line into two.
